Partner 10 – Ege University Medical School (EUMS)

EUMS, Bornova-Izmir, Turkey. The Department of Parasitology of Ege University Medical School (EUMS-DP) has routine laboratories which are performing diagnostic examinations, as well as research laboratories working on different fields of Parasitology. The laboratory responsible for leishmaniasis, is consist of experts related to different aspects of the disease as well as vector and reservoir studies. The Department has participated in several international research projects related to basic and molecular epidemiology of human and canine Leishmaniasis, in collaboration with international scientists, supported by EU-FP6 Programs (LeishMed, LeishRisk, EDEN) and WHO grants. The team had also completed a number of nationally funded research projects and publications related to epidemiology and molecular biology of leishmaniasis.
