PostDoc: Discovery of novel zoonotic mosquitoe -borne viruses in Cambodia and Cameroun, Institute Pasteur

Forums:

A Postdoctoral position is available for a scientist motivated to join an ongoing research program focused on discovery of novel zoonotic mosquitoe -borne viruses in Cambodia and Cameroun, using a combination of High Throughput Sequencing of arthropods and wide range screening for cognate antibodies in healthy humans and genome search in diseased patients.

The position is available for 24 months in the Pathogen Discovery Laboratory at the Institut Pasteur (Paris) and is funded by the NIH (PICREID). It takes advantage of the facilities of the Institut Pasteur (including the bioinformatics facilities) and the collaboration established with the two countries. All necessary techniques and bioIT analyses are routinely used in the laboratory.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in virology, will hold a PhD and will have a complementary training in phylogenetic analysis.

Basic skills in molecular biology techniques (cloning and expression of proteins) would also be appreciated. Propensity to work in a BSL-3 laboratory is mandatory.

If interested, please send curriculum vitae and brief statement of research interest to marc.eloit@pasteur.fr
