The KIT Institute of Geography and Geoecology invites applications for a:

postdoctoral position (TV-L E 13, 100 %) - remote sensing

The position is to be filled as soon as possible. The appointment is for three years, with the possibility of renewal. The candidate will be part of a newly forming working group for physical geography and geoecology.  The successful candidate will conduct independent research in the field of remote sensing of vegetation with a focus on ecological research questions (e.g., related to biodiversity, plant functional types, communities, habitat mapping).

The candidates are expected to attract funding through competitive research grants, to contribute to teaching (four teaching hours per week) and to mentor graduate students.

Competitive applicants will hold a diploma / M.Sc. and Ph.D. in a relevant subject and are actively involved in research in the mentioned (or closely related) fields. A publication and teaching record are a plus.
