This is an exciting opportunity to join the Longitudinal Studies Centre for Scotland under the leadership of Professor Chris Dibben. We are seeking a highly motivated and active GIS researcher who will help the Centre develop its rapidly expanding research resources and in particular its capacity to manipulate historical geographic information. 

The post holder will contribute to two closely related projects: Digitising Scotland, funded by the ESRC and The Cohorts and Longitudinal Studies Enhancement Resource (CLOSER), funded by ESRC and MRC. This work will focus on the development of methodologies for geocoding historical addresses and small area geographies for historical vital event databases and cohort studies.
