Spatial Analysis, Active Transportation and Movement Analytics Post Doc & PhD positions, Nabraska, USA

Forums:

I am pleased to be recruiting for 2 positions: a Post-Doctoral Fellow (up to 3 years of funding) and PhD student. Both positions will be held in the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning at Arizona State University.

Ideally, I will find one applicant interested in each area.

1.       Spatial Analysis and Active Transportation. The focus of research will be on spatial analysis of cycling safety and ridership data. In particular, research will emphasize integrating traditional and “big” data sources of cycling data, and developing methods for surveillance of change in ridership and safety over time. As well, the position will help with promotion of www.BikeMaps.org in Tempe and Phoenix, Arizona.

2.       GIScience and Movement Analytics. The focus of research will be on development of spatial-temporal analytics for quantifying patterns of movement, in data such as  wildlife GPS data. Method developed may be applied to questions around grizzly bear conservation, and/or other wildlife data sets.

The Post-Doctoral Fellow could start any time between September 2016 and January 2017 and is up to 3 years. The PhD will be required to start September 2016 or January 2017.  Both positions are fully funded and for details please contact Dr. Trisalyn Nelson trisalyn@uvic.ca
