Two job vacancies for MSc students, Tick-borne Diseases, Edinburgh, UK & Budweis, Czech Republic

Two job vacancies for MSc students are available through the POSTICK programme (Post-graduate training network for capacity building to control ticks and tick-borne diseases), one at the Roslin Institute of The University of Edinburgh (UK) and the other at the Institute of Parasitology of the Biology Centre, ASCR, v.v.i. in Budweis (Czech Republic).

The job in Edinburgh is a Graduate Research Position leading to an MSc by Research degree, with the Roslin Institute offering the position of an 'Early Stage Researcher' (ESR) for a duration of 18 months. The ESR will work on the research topic 'Effect of co-infection with a virus on Ehrlichia canis kinetics in tick and mammalian cells in vitro' and will obtain an MSc by Research degree from The University of Edinburgh.

Similarly, the job vacancy in Budweis is also an 18-month Graduate Research Position leading to an MSc degree. The ESR at the Institute of Parasitology of the Biology Centre, ASCR, v.v.i. in Budweis will work on the research topic 'Cellular and molecular characterization of Ehrlichia spp. grown in tick cell lines' and will obtain an MSc degree granted by the University of South Bohemia, which has an outstanding international reputation for its research activities in the field of ticks and tick-borne pathogens.
