Global Wind Atlas - power density at 50m, 100m and 200m is available to project partners on request

This dataset is available to PALE-Blu project partners on request.  Please email info@palebludata.com if you require access to this data.

The DTU Global Wind Atlas project (GWA) has produced 250 m gridded data describing the predicted long term wind climate over the globe. The data is in the form of wind speed frequency distributions for 12 direction sectors, and frequency distributions for 12 direction sectors. These wind climate data are at 50, 100, 200 m above surface level. This dataset I call the calculation dataset.

The calculation dataset has been post-processed further in a number of ways to produce datasets that are presented to end-users on the Global Wind Atlas website. The post-processing includes aggregating the data into 1 km grid and projecting the data onto a single longitude latitude grid covering the world. The post processed data is available from the web page and also can be downloaded from a link we have set up. It is free to use as long as DTU Wind Energy and the project are correctly cited.

The 1km dataset of the GWA data for the whole globe can be download as geotiff files for annual mean wind speed at 50, 100 and 200 m above surface level from the global wind atlas.
